IceCap Reverse Osmosis Replacement Booster Pump
SKU: IP-RI-BP01H
- Direct OEM Smart RO/DI Fit: Factory-original replacement high-efficiency booster pump engineered specifically for the IceCap Smart RO/DI System and standalone IceCap Booster Pump Kits.
- Maximizes Pure Water Production: Elevates low municipal water pressure to optimal reverse osmosis membrane levels (65–85+ PSI), significantly speeding up pure water production per hour.
- Improves Waste-to-Product Ratio: Enhances Thin Film Composite (TFC) membrane rejection efficiency, reducing concentrated wastewater volume sent down the drain.
- Extends DI Resin Lifespan: Boosts primary membrane rejection rate closer to 98%+, lowering product water TDS before it reaches the deionization stage to prevent premature resin exhaustion.
- Core Motor Replacement Assembly: Ships as the direct drop-in pump unit, allowing aquarists to retain their existing mounting bracket, pressure switches, and 24V DC power harness.

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Shut off the cold water supply valve feeding the RO/DI system and unplug the electrical power adapter.
Open the filtered water output line or pressure tank valve to relieve residual line pressure.
Disconnect the 2-pin DC power lead connecting the old pump to the system wire harness or pressure switches.
Depress the release collets on the input and output quick-connect elbow fittings and remove the 1/4-inch RO tubing.
Unscrew and remove the old pump from its mounting plate or the Smart RO/DI frame.
Thread the quick-connect elbow fittings out of the old pump head and inspect their threads. Apply 2 to 3 wraps of Teflon tape before threading them securely into the new IP-RI-BP01H pump ports.
Fasten the new booster pump to the mounting plate using vibration-dampening rubber grommets.
Reconnect the RO feed line to the pump inlet and the membrane feed line to the pump outlet.
Connect the DC electrical wiring leads, slowly turn on the tap water feed, inspect the fittings for drips, and restore electrical power.
Pro Tips:
- Never Run the Booster Pump Without Water Supply. Booster pumps are positive-displacement pressure multipliers, not self-priming suction pumps. Always confirm that incoming tap water pressure is at least 20 PSI and that pre-filter sediment and carbon blocks are not clogged before powering on the pump. Running the pump dry causes rapid friction heat that destroys internal diaphragm seals.
- Wrap Male Threaded Fittings with PTFE Tape. When transferring or installing 1/4-inch NPT elbow connectors into the booster pump head, wrap the threads with 2 to 3 layers of plumber's PTFE tape. Hand-tighten the fittings and turn an additional 1 to 1.5 turns with a wrench. Avoid over-tightening, which can fracture plastic pump head ports.
