110mm Metric Double Union Ball Valve
The 110mm Metric Double Union Ball Valve is a heavy-duty flow control solution engineered for the largest aquarium exhibits and industrial aquaculture facilities. Precision-sized for 110mm Metric PVC pipe, this valve is the primary isolation and regulation point for the massive discharge assemblies and recirculating loops found on Reef Octopus Commercial protein skimmers.
In large-scale life support engineering, maintenance accessibility is critical. The double union design allows the central valve body to be unscrewed and removed from the plumbing run without disturbing the surrounding pipework. This makes it easy to service the internal seals or clear obstructions. Constructed from industrial-grade grey PVC, this valve features a smooth-turning ball with PTFE seats and EPDM gaskets, ensuring a leak-proof seal and effortless operation even under the significant weight and pressure of 110mm plumbing.
Key Features
True Metric Calibration: Fits 110mm OD metric pipe—standard for commercial-spec Reef Octopus and large European exhibits.
Removable Body: Integrated unions on both ends facilitate rapid maintenance and system reconfiguration.
Industrial Strength: Rated for high-pressure applications (PN16) and built to withstand the rigors of commercial pump rooms.
Corrosion Proof: 100% saltwater safe materials; will not rust or leach chemicals into sensitive marine environments.
Adjustable Seat: Features an adjustable union nut to maintain the perfect seal tension over years of service.
Ideal For
Commercial Skimmer Control: Precision tuning of the water level in 110mm-diameter skimmer bodies.
Exhibit Isolation: Allowing for the shut-off of primary return or drain lines during system maintenance.
High-Volume Manifolds: Directing water flow between different filtration modules in industrial aquaculture racks.

What’s Included:
(1) 110mm Metric Double Union Ball Valve
Specifications:
Size: 110mm
Valve Type: Ball Valve (Double Union)
Connection Type: Slip x Slip (Socket)
Body Material: Industrial Grade Grey PVC
Seal Material: EPDM / PTFE
Compatibility: 110mm Metric Pipe ONLY
- Ensure the 110mm metric pipe ends are cut square and deburred.
- Unscrew the union nuts from the valve and slide them onto the pipe ends.
- Solvent-weld the union sockets to the pipe ends using heavy-duty PVC cement.
- Once the adhesive has fully cured, place the valve body between the sockets, ensuring the EPDM O-rings are seated correctly.
- Hand-tighten the union nuts. Do not use a pipe wrench, as overtightening can crack the PVC nuts.
- Open and close the valve several times to ensure smooth operation before introducing water pressure.
Pro Tips:
- Metric vs. Standard 4-Inch. A 110mm metric valve will not fit standard 4-inch USA pipe. 110mm is approximately 4.33 inches, while US 4-inch pipe has a 4.5-inch OD. Always verify your pipe diameter with a caliper before installation.
- Lube the Seals. Before final assembly, apply a thin layer of 100% silicone lubricant to the EPDM O-rings. This ensures a better seal and makes it much easier to unscrew the unions after they have been in service for a long period.
- Support the Weight. A 110mm valve is heavy, especially when full of water. Ensure the pipe on either side of the valve is securely supported by brackets to prevent the weight from putting leverage stress on the union connections.
