Efficient organic waste extraction in high-capacity marine aquariums depends on drawing high volumes of air into the protein skimmer pump. The IceCap DCAIR 9.0 Venturi (SKU: IP-DCAIR-9-VEN) is the official OEM replacement air intake nozzle designed specifically for the IceCap DCAIR 9.0 DC Skimmer Pump on IceCap K3 250INT and IceCap K3 250OVP Protein Skimmers. Over years of operation, calcium carbonate deposits, dried salt crust, or organic detritus can constrict the narrow internal air port, drastically reducing air draw and collapsing your skimmer's foam head.
This precision-molded venturi fits directly onto the suction inlet of the DCAIR 9.0 pump volute. As water is drawn into the pump, the internal constriction increases water velocity while dropping localized pressure, pulling air in through the side nipple. The combined air-water mixture enters the needlewheel chamber immediately, creating millions of microscopic bubbles that bind to dissolved organic compounds in your reef tank.
Ideal Replacement Scenario
If your skimmer foam level has dropped significantly despite running the pump at high speed, if the barbed air nipple broke off during hose removal, or if calcium buildup cannot be cleared from the internal air channel, replacing the venturi restores factory air-water mixing.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse, or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of the owner's or his agent's first knowledge of the defect.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given the first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements, or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary, or consequential damages of any nature, however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.

Installation & Set-Up Guidelines:
Turn off power to the IceCap DCAIR 9.0 pump controller and remove the skimmer pump from your sump.
Carefully pull the flexible air silencer hose off the barbed air nipple of the old venturi.
Twist and pull the old venturi fitting off the front suction nozzle of the pump volute cover.
Align the new IP-DCAIR-9-VEN venturi with the pump inlet port and push firmly until fully seated with an airtight fit.
Re-attach the air silencer hose to the barbed nipple, place the pump back into the sump, and restore power.
Pro Tips:
- Clean Air Nipple Monthly. Salt creep naturally accumulates inside the narrow air intake nipple over time due to humidity. Every month, push a small pipe cleaner or paper clip through the air nipple to clear salt deposits without disturbing the plumbing.
- Soak in Warm Vinegar for Mineral Buildup. If calcium carbonate forms inside the venturi throat, soak the plastic fitting in warm white vinegar or citric acid solution for 20 minutes to dissolve mineral crust completely without scratching the internal bore.
