Calcium Reactors

Calcium reactors make it easy to maintain and stabilize calcium and alkalinity levels in your reef aquarium. Here’s how calcium reactors work. The reactor holds your choice of reactor media. A slow stream of aquarium water is pumped through the reactor. Carbon dioxide is injected into the reactor to lower pH and slowly dissolve the media. The low pH causes the calcium and alkalinity to be come soluble and dissolve into the water. Reef Octopus manufactures the most advanced and effective calcium reactor available. There’s one for just about any size reef tanks. The Pro series reactor are designed for large aquariums, zoos and public aquarium displays.
